LayersΒΆ
Layers in instant3Dhub offer a powerful mechanism to organize, filter, and control the visibility of nodes within a 3D space. They are commonly used to separate distinct functional elements in a 3D environment. For example, in a CAD model of a machine, layers might represent mechanical components, flatpattern geometry or other (Refer to 3D Data Resources for more details.
Layers are defined in the 3D Data Resources, and instant3Dhub loads and aggregates all layers specified there. Each layer is an abstract property assigned to nodes in the Instance Graph. Nodes can belong to one or multiple layers. Importantly, layers do not modify the structure of the Instance Graph; instead, they enable selective interaction with specific subsets of data. This supports dynamic visibility toggling, filtering, and interaction control without altering the underlying model.
Layers are configured globally for a 3D Space, allowing certain nodes and auxiliary elements (AUX) to be enabled or disabled as needed.
